Conventional Q-switched pule fiber laser is applied to many plastic materials and the marking result is usually very good, but for some sensitive plastics ( Sensitive to heat), the same level of homogeneity cannot always be achieved. then we can try mopa fiber laser marking machine or cold uv laser marking machine, We can set the pulse duration of laser source according to different plastic, we can set shorter pulse width to get it well laser marked. If using 355nm uv laser, it will be much easier, for usually uv laser is much expensive than fiber laser.
With dark plastics (such as PA 66 GF, PA 6 etc.), the surrounding material is less heated thanks to the short pulses and the associated low pulse energy. The plastics foam less and the marking is more homogeneous. Other plastics require more energy to heat up the material sufficiently. In this case, the long pulses help to optimize the foaming of the material. In both cases, marking with the MOPA laser leads to a more clear contrast and therefore to better (machine) readability.
